 Abstract:  Picket Latimer and his brothers, Peter and John Mulford Latimer, were farmers in Huron County, Ohio. Picket and John also operated a general store, P. & J.M. Latimer, in Norwalk, Ohio. John's son, John Mulford Latimer, Jr., served as a captain in the 101st Ohio Infantry during the Civil War. The collection consists of photocopies of letters written to Picket Latimer regarding the business operations of his general store in the 1840s and copies of John Mulford Latimer, Jr.'s American Civil War service records.

 Abstract:  George Armstrong Garretson (1844-1916) was a general who was appointed Brigadier General of Volunteers in May 1898, and then served as commander of the 2nd Brigade, 1st Division, 2nd Army Corps, and later the 1st Brigade, Provisional Division, during the Spanish-American War. He was also president of the National Bank of Commerce in Cleveland, Ohio. As commander of the 1st Brigade, Provisional Division, he participated in the engagements at Guanica and Yauco, Porto Rico, during July and August of 1898. The collection consists of correspondence, military orders, speeches, newspaper clippings, telegrams, and other records of General Garretson's military service (1897-1903), subscription lists and letters concerning the reorganization of the Union Club of Cleveland (1901), and three letter books of business and personal correspondence (1910-1916).

 Abstract:  Ray T. Miller (1893-1966) was a prominent Cleveland, Ohio, lawyer, businessman and Democratic political leader. After serving in World War I he became assistant law director of Cleveland (1922-1923), city prosecutor (1928-1932) and Mayor (1932-1933). He was chairman of the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party (1938-1964). The collection consists of correspondence, speeches, certificates, diaries, daybooks, newspaper clippings, photographs, miscellaneous printed material and personal memorabilia relating to Miller's college, army and political activities.
